Combining three other pieces of legislation, this bill would strengthen and expand sanctions on Iran, Russia, and North Korea. Specifically, it included the Countering Iran’s Destabilizing Activities Act of 2017 (S. 722 of 3/23/17), the Korean Interdiction and Modernization of Sanctions Act (H.R. 1644 of 3/21/17) and a third bill imposing certain sanctions on Russia and limiting the president’s ability to waive others (details can be found at congress.gov).
