This bill would have authorized the Defense Dept. to spend as much as $286.9 m. in FY 2016 on research, development, testing, evaluation, and procurement for the David’s Sling weapons system in the course of development as a ‘lower tier’ of Israel’s multi-tier ballistic missile defense arsenal. It would have also urged the Obama administration to enter into an agreement with Israel specifying the terms of coproduction in the U.S. once the program’s research and development is complete.
