Among a long list of findings, cites UN statements that express deep and serious concern at mounting information by Israel and other states of illegal movements of arms into Lebanon, in violation of UNSC Res. 1701. Among others, condemns Hezbollah and “other pro-Syrian groups” that attempt to undermine the democratically elected government of Lebanon by “extra-legal means;” confirms U.S. support for UN resolutions and attempts by the international community to disarm all armed groups [outside the army] in Lebanon, particularly Hezbollah and the Palestinian factions; honors nations who sent troops for UNIFIL and asks the Lebanese government to request assistance from UNIFIL to secure the Lebanese-Syrian border.

Passed in House 9/25/07 415-2.
