Intelligence Authorization Act (IAA) for Fiscal Year 2016

This annual must-pass bill authorizes all intelligence-related activities. The 2 provisions relevant to Palestinian affairs and the Arab-Israeli conflict were each carried over from previous versions of the bill. One, that called for the director of national intelligence to designate an official to work on the threat posed by tunnels to the U.S. and its allies, including Israel, and submit a corresponding annual report was carried over from H.R. 2596 of 6/1/15; the second, requiring the director to submit a report on Iran’s use of funds made available through sanctions relief in connection with the 7/14/15 nuclear deal, was carried over from S. 1705 of 7/7/15.
