Iran Terror-Free Skies Act of 2017

S.420
Introduced:
February 16, 2017
115
First
February 16, 2017
Referred to Senate (sub)committee

Like similar bill H.R. 566 of 1/13/17, this bill would require the president to report, every 180 days, on Iran’s use of commercial aircraft and related services for “illicit military or other activities,” including known instances of military cargo on commercial aircraft; the Iranian commercial aviation sector’s support for the Syrian government, Hezbollah, Hamas, or any other foreign terrorist organizations; and foreign governments or persons that have facilitated such activities. The president would no longer have to file this report once he certifies that Iran has “ceased providing support for acts of international terrorism.”
