“Regarding the security of Israel and the principles of peace in the Middle East.”
Affirms support for Israel’s security and its Jewish character; cites support for President George W. Bush’s letter (4/04) to Israeli PM Ariel Sharon stating that it is unrealistic that a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians will result in an Israeli withdrawal to the 1949 armistice lines and any agreement must reflect the “new realities on the ground”; Palestinian refugees must be resettled outside of present-day Israel; and supports capacity building in the PA to fight “terrorism,” dismantle the “terrorist infrastructure,” and prevents areas from where Israel has withdrawn from becoming a security threat to Israel.
