This resolution would state that Congress:
1. reaffirms to the residents of Jerusalem and the people of Israel the importance of Jerusalem’s reunification;
2. reaffirms Israel’s right to take necessary steps to prevent any division of the city;
3. strongly believes that the city must remain undivided with the rights of all religious and ethnic groups respected.
4. calls upon the president to ‘repeatedly affirm publicly, as a matter of United States policy,’ that Jerusalem must remain the undivided capital of Israel.
5. urges the president to cease exercising his authority to waive the provision in the Jerusalem Embassy Relocation Act of 1995 mandating the immediate relocation of the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem
6. Urges U.S. officials to refrain from any actions that contradict U.S. law on this subject
