This bill would authorize the Defense Dept. to establish a program with Israel to jointly research, develop, test, and evaluate “directed energy capabilities,” or lasers, to detect and stop ballistic and cruise missiles, drones, mortars, and IEDs. No more than $25 m. would be authorized for this program annually.
