A resolution calling upon the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to release Iranian-Americans Siamak Namazi and his father, Baquer Namazi

Like similar measure H. Res. 808 of 7/6/16, this resolution urged the president to take appropriate measures to secure the release of Siamak and Baquer Namazi.

Namazi was a public policy fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and a consultant working in the oil industry in Dubai when he traveled to Tehran in 7/2015. He was arrested, interrogated, and detained by Iranian forces. Months later, his father, Baquer, was arrested as well.
