Countering Iran's Destabilizing Activities Act of 2017

H.R.3203
Introduced:
July 12, 2017
115
First
July 24, 2017
Referred to House (sub)committee

This bill, which would strengthen and expand sanctions on Iran and Russia, was identical to a bill that passed in the Senate on 6/15 (S. 722 of 3/23/17). Engel and his cosponsors introduced it again in the House to resolve procedural delays on further action in their chamber. “It’s time to stop the delays and vote on this sanctions bill,” Engel wrote, in a press release on 7/12. The measure ultimately became law in the context of the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (*H.R. 3364 of 7/24/17).
