This bill would authorize the president to provide “such sums as may be necessary” upon request from the Israeli government for the procurement of “missile defense systems, including the Iron Dome, David Sling, and Arrow systems, additional interceptors for those systems or any future missile defense systems, and missile defense development.” Within 10 days of the receipt of any such request, the secretaries of defense and state would be required to report to Congress justifying an exception to the funding caps on annual U.S. military aid agreed upon in the 2016 Memorandum of Understanding (see JPS 46 [2]).
