The resolution also calls on the Syrian government immediately and unconditionally to release prisoners of conscience and other political prisoners. It also condemns the Syrian government for human rights abuses and calls on the president and secy. of state to address these abuses through the UN and to make human rights a priority in U.S.-Syria bilateral relations.
