This resolution was introduced shortly after the announcement that Hamas and Fatah would sign an agreement committing the two factions to forming a unity government on 5/4. Would declare that the House of Representative supports a resolution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict through the creation of a Palestinian state and encourages the inclusion of Palestinian Prime Minister Salaam Fayyad in any future Palestinian governments. Would state the sense of the House that U.S. aid to the Palestinians is intended to prevent violence against Israel, create stability and prosperity in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and to meet humanitarian needs there.
