This resolution called on the president to convene negotiations on ending the Syrian conflict that would stabilize the country, provide for political change, put in place measures to protect Syrian refugees and decrease their numbers, and ‘create a coordinated international strategy’ for the defeat of ISIS. It also called on other countries with an interest or involvement in the Middle East to participate in the talks.
