Introduced amid escalating violence in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories (see the Update in JPS 45 [2]), this resolution expressed support for the Israeli victims of recent attacks and their families, condemned ‘terrorism committed under the auspices of the PA,’ called on Palestinian leaders to stop supporting or inciting violent activities in Israel, expressed concern that the Obama administration had continued to exercise national security waivers to maintain U.S. aid to the PA, and required Pres. Obama to recertify that the PA and all its ministers had publicly accepted and complied with the Middle East Quartet’s principles, including recognition of Israel’s right to exist.
