Would grant U.S. district courts jurisdiction over any civil lawsuit brought by Holocaust survivors or their heirs against European railroad companies that owned or operated trains used to transport detainees to Nazi concentration camps from 1/1/1941 through 12/31/1944. The findings section of the bill specifically targets the French firm Societé Nationale des Chemins de Fers Francais for its role in these deportations. The bill would establish no statute of limitations on lawsuits and would apply retroactively to any action pending or commenced on or before 1/2/2002.
