This bill would have provided $1 b. for the State Dept.’s migration and refugee assistance account in FY 2016 to respond to the refugee crisis resulting from the conflict situations in the Middle East and to resettle refugees in the U.S. Within 45 days, and every 90 days thereafter, the secretary of state would be required to report to Congress on the effects of the refugee crisis on the Middle East, Europe, and the U.S.
