Total authorization for Israel: $139.7m
Authorizes $118.7m for the Arrow missile defense system. The final conference report (107-333) notes that this is a $53m increase over the presidential budget request and will “accelerate the Arrow System Improvement Program and to continue joint interoperability efforts for U.S. and Israeli missile defense systems.”
It also authorizes an additional $10m for the Tactical High Energy Laser (THEL) program, “a joint U.S.-Israeli development program to demonstrate the feasibility of defeating short-range rockets using directed energy.”
Finally, it authorizes $11m for the Space and Missile Defense Battle Lab (see S. 1416 on 9/12/01 for further information).

12/28/01 became public law 107-107 (12/13/01 conference report passed House 382-40; 12/13/01 conference report passed Senate 96-2).
