H.R.257
Introduced:
January 4, 2017
115
First
February 16, 2017
Referred to House (sub)committee
This bill would repeal the provision in the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995 that allows the president to waive, every 6 mos., the congressional directive to move the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. It would also require the secretary of state to submit a report to Congress with estimates on the time and funding required to make the move.
See S. 11 of 1/3/17 for more on the proposed U.S. embassy move to Jerusalem.
