“A bill to take certain steps toward recognition by the United States of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.” Calls for ending operations of a U.S. consulate in Jerusalem unless it is run by the U.S. ambassador to Israel, listing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel in government documents, and for the purposes of the registration of birth, certification of nationality, or issuance of a passport of a United States citizen born in the city of Jerusalem, the country will be listed as Israel if the citizen requests that.
