Referred to Senate (sub)committee

Like identical measure H.R. 6208 of 9/28/16, this bill would require the State Dept. to incorporate a new anti-Semitism section into its annual report on religious freedom. It would include descriptions of security challenges facing European Jewish communities, U.S. efforts to partner with European law enforcement bodies to overcome those challenges, any educational programming and public awareness initiatives promoting the value of pluralism in “population segments that exhibit a high degree of anti- Semitic animus,” and efforts by European governments to adopt and apply a working definition of anti-Semitism.

10 cosponsors (6D, 4R).

Last major action: 11/17/16 referred to Senate Comm. on Foreign Relations.
